  • Four-limbed staff pose – chaturanga

Four-limbed staff pose is a prominent pose featured in the sun salutations – which means that sometimes, we’ll do a tonne of them.  Since improperly done chaturangas can really lead to injuries to the lower back, wrists, shoulders (just to name a few points of interest), it’s a good idea to learn how to do them properly.

  • Downward facing dog

Like chaturanga, down dog can make up a huge chunk of one’s practice and beginners often mention wrist soreness, discomfort/fatigue in this pose and inability to hold it for as long as the instructor asks them to hold it for.  Part of the solution is needing to practice more – the other very important part is doing it correctly.

  • Favourite restorative poses

Here are 5 restorative poses broken down so that you can do them at home.  Some modifications are offered to make them more comfortable – because sometime the point of a yoga practice is to just find ease and relax.

  • Jump-back variations
