I am, by no means, a fan of bugs. So to have “Ants” in the name of this recipe makes me think, “Bleh”. Butttt, it’s actually quite enjoyable – if you like celery and nut butter.
Traditionally, raisins acted as the “ants” and I thought, “wtf? What kind of ants are that big??”. I suppose it’s possible in a tropical country, or someplace warmer than Canada, but here, ants are tiny. So, I thought “ch-ch-ch-chia”. Still, I like the sweetness that raisins lend, so I created a happy medium.
- Nut Butter (I like almond butter and cashew butter)
- Chia Seeds
- Line raisins inside of celery, making sure to leave some space to slather on nut butter.
- Spread nut butter over raisins to cover. Sprinkle with chia seeds and enjoy.
